He prefers to read to himself

This little guy likes to be in control. He wants to choose his own books, hold books, turn the pages, and most if the time reads them on his own. Every once in a while he lets his mom jump in and read. At the end of the second book, he rolls over and is usually out in two seconds. He is growing up way too fast!

Thank God it's Fall

This weekend we were invited out to the Shipley's farm for a fall party. It was an absolute blast! They had a zip line, inflatable obstacle course and slide, hay ride, BBQ, and s'mores. Matthew loved the inflatables and Andrew spent his time on the zip line. So many of Andrew's school friends were there so he was in heaven. Andrea's hay allergy kept him from going on the hay ride but Matthew enjoyed it. Someone had a donut on the ride and so the whole trip Matthew kept asking for a donut. Couldn't hey but out of his mind. That's the pouty face you see! Then we stopped by the hog trap and discovered two hogs. He was fascinated! It was a great time and the weather was perfect! We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends!

Joint Birthdays

Last night Julie and I celebrated 36 at Las Ventanas. The kids loved playing outside and the adults enjoyed the cooler weather! Besides Matthew falling into the water, it was a relaxing night with yummy chips, queso, and guacamole.

Joint Doctor Appt.

Maddie and Matthew both had doctor appointments back to back today. It made it nice on all of us to have a built in play date.
Maddie- double ear infection and wheezing
Matthew- chest infection and wheezing
Both got antibiotics and steroid breathing treatments.
Matthew got to demonstrate to Maddie how to do breathing treatments.
Funny thing when Julie was checking out they scheduled Maddie's checkup for Nov 13th...the day Matthew's 3 year old well visit is scheduled. So we will be back again together!
Afterward we went to check on progress on Gardenia and grabbed chicken "fren fries and etchup" for lunch!
