A BIG Win

Tonight Andrew's team played the Twins in the 2nd game of the playoffs. It was super close but the Cubs came out on top for a 10-11 win! And, guess who knocked in the winning run??? #11, Andrew Corson

Andrew's 7th birthday

What a fun day!! It started with a birthday blessing, then a lunch appointment at Chick fil a, then a surprise carload of balloons and car decorations, then a BIG WIN in our first playoff game!! We celebrated with baseball cookies, Pei Wei, and presents. This day was packed full of fun!!

Last day as a 6 year old

The boys and I made a coke a cola cake this morning for Andrew's birthday. The family met at the Racquet Club for lunch and some cake. The weather was nice so we sat on the patio and enjoyed the day. Andrew had to rush off to baseball practice later while Matthew napped. We surprised Andrew with a bike he has been wanting and has breakfast for dinner. A perfect Sunday birthday celebration day! Tomorrow is Andrew's real 7th birthday, his birthday blessing, and his first play off game! It's going to be a big day!!

Singing may not his thing

Or his mom's or his dad's!! It's not a shocker that Andrew's not find of singing. During the kindergarten concert today, Andrew and two of his classmates were suppose to say/sing one line together. Well, after standing up too soon, Andrew and his friends missed their part. Andrew was furious and extremely embarassed. He told me he made two big mistakes. One he was mad at himself for, the other he blames Sara. I thought both mistakes were priceless!!

Shining Star!

Yesterday Andrew was awarded a very honorable "Shining Star" certificate at the all school assembly. What an honor! Shining Stars are handed out when students are caught being good. Andrew turned in $25 breakfast card during lunch on Thursday. I got a good call from Mrs. Hayes office and was thrilled. He was so proud and I am too!

Blast from the past

My sweet friend Jenn, who now lives in Chicago, emailed this pic to me today. She stumbled upon it as she was going through old photos. I think Andrew was three maybe four here. Soccer is really hard when you're that age! I just think the picture is so sweet!

Slugger Fever

Andrew is dying to knock the ball out of the park. It hasn't happened yet...but it's sure to before too long!
Now, to keep our cap up and out of our eyes while we are out in the field...that's our next goal.
By the way, the Cubs are ranked #1 in our division right now with 5 game winning streak. Hoping for a fun playoff season!!

Friday night Randy took Andrew to the Astros opening game with big and little Marshall. The boys enjoyed each other and the game too!

Passion Week

This week Wendy and I took Andrew and Elaine to visit 2nd Baptist Church's Passion Week exhibit. Stations were set up as a timeline of Jesus's last week of life. Very hands on and interesting. At the end we were to right down a sin and then nail it to the cross to symbolize Christ's sacrifice he gave for the forgiveness of our sins. After Andrew was finished and we were walking out, Andrew turned to me and said: Wait Mom, I have one more I need to nail down!!

Palm Sunday

This morning Andrew and the kindergartners sang at the beginning of our church service. Even though Randy and I both practiced the words with him and he knew them....he just stood there and didn't sing. I think he was more interested in waving the palm leaf to see how annoyed the girl in front of him would get! I'm sure God was pleased!!

Another first....

But not so cool....cavities! Andrew had two cavities filled this week. He was a champ though! Laughing gas completely hid the numbing shots he received. No complaints and movie tickets for a reward!

First Sleepover

Andrew's friend, Seth, invited him to spin the night this past Saturday night. He was MORE than excited to say the least. He started packing his bag Friday night. Saturday morning he started counting the hours down and finally the minutes. Then he started waiting by the door. Seth arrived in the convertible and he was ecstatic!! 10:00 reports were good so I went to bed. 11:30 rolls around and Andrew is ready to come home!! It was a good try!!

No More Nanny McPhee

Andrew finally lost his second big tooth on top. It has been super wiggly forever and as soon as we got home from Galveston, Randy held on tight and pulled. Out it came and Andrew did not even realize!
