Matthew wants to be just like Andrew. So when Andrew goes to school, Matthew wants to go to school. Luckily, today was Friday and a school day for Matthew. Unfortunately, school starts at 9:15 over an hour after Andrew leaves. So today we spent our time watching his favorite movie.....Cars!
We also hosted our first play date with Andrews new friends at St. Francis. We invited the boys this time and 6 out of the 8 boys made it. They had such a fun time playing in the backyard while the moms got to visit. It didn't hurt that the weather was really nice. So, the boys declared war with 400 water balloons and then confetti eggs! I think it was a hit. The boys had fun and I enjoyed getting to know the other boy moms in Andrew's class.
It's kinda become a weekly tradition for Wendy to bring "Jax" as Matthew calls him, over Friday afternoons to play. It was a nice night out so the boys had a good time playing together as normal.
So, both of my boys had friends over to play today....and this momma is TIRED!!!

The Pink Skeleton and the Haunted Train Station
We all have an idea of what our children will be like. I envisioned our sweet Matthew playing for hours with his new train table. And, I was right! Except, I didn't envision a few minor details......

Just another Wednesday
This morning after taking school pics at CDI, Wendy took the boys to play at the Memorial City castle and ride the train. It was such a blessing because I was able to do some much needed de-cluttering. I got a huge chunk of it done, but I still have SO much more to do. It absolutely amazes me how many toys we have accumulated. Thanks Wendy for the couple of hours of uninterrupted time!
Pool construction continues across the street so Matthew and I had a very entertaining morning of huge roots from trees being loaded in back of dump truck.
Matthew got a red motorcycle for his birthday this weekend. For whatever reason, he felt compelled to put on one of my silky dresses, sun hats, and hop on his bike for a ride. He kept telling me "night night" because the dress was soft like pajamas! He was quite a scene on Overcup.
And project glue down train table is complete. Hoping we can keep our tracks connected now!
And, in super sad I didn't get a picture, but the boys and I treated Emily to some fro yo for her birthday this afternoon. I can NOT believe that she is 18 years old! That makes me old! Happy Birthday Emily! It's been so fun watching my baby sister grow up!!

Boys and their toys
Today was a special day at our house! Not only was it trash day, but the neighbors are putting in a pool and our street is full of dump trucks and all kinds of tractors. Matthew spent much time today just watching! I love the way he stands with his hands behind his back like his Poppa!
After Gymboree and a picnic with Jackson, I worked library for Andrew's class today. It's so fun seeing him so happy at school! He loves all that he is learning at school. He sat down and did homework (mommy assigned) for over 30 minutes tonight.
Jackson came to visit this evening while his parents celebrated their anniversary. He and Matthew are the best pals, and Andrew is the best helper! He is such a great big brother and will make a wonderful daddy one day!
On a funny note, Andrew has been complaining of itchy fingers after his bath lately. I think we need to change soaps. But, today, after drying off, I caught him squirting cortisone cream all over his hands...like lotion. He said it helped! I hope that's ok for him to do that!
I have so many reasons to be thankful!

Happy Columbus Day!
Since Andrew had the day off, we stayed in Galveston until today. We had a lazy morning, got packed up, and had a yummy lunch at Shrimp and Stuff before leaving the island. On the way back to Houston, I looked back to find 2 boys snoozing....a sign of a fun filled weekend!
Randy went to redi-clinic when we got home and I took the boys to grab a dinner at Papa Joes. Andrew had ribs and sausage and almost cleaned his plate!
After opening a package from Uncle Duncan, the boys enjoyed a fun bath of many bubbles!!
