Weekend Photo dump

On the agenda this weekend was a U of H game for Andrew and Randy, then a birthday party and dinner date with Matthew and me, and lots of silly moments with two silly boys.

Allergies stink!

Well, Matthew's lab results came back from last week and looks like Matthew is allergic to milk and a certain mold. Ugh!!!! Milk?!?!? Really? The good news is it's usually something that is outgrown AND he doesn't have his brother's nut allergy or his great grandmother's shell fish allergy. But, mold...we are in Houston. That's going to be a tough one!
And, on another note, but related to allergic reactions, check out Matthew's foot this morning. He was attacked by ants at the park. I thought he was complaining about rocks in his socks, but apparently he had ants in his pants!!! Poor guy!

Fun friends and Family Night at SF

Yesterday Matthew had a morning play date at the park with Harper and then a lunch play date at the Racquet Club with Harper and Jackson. I think The boys were a little too much for sweet Harper girl. She crashed as soon as we got in the car.
Later that evening all four of us went to the SF book fair at Andrew's school. It was so fun seeing Andrew interact with his new friends. I was shocked that he was just as crazy about the girls as he was about the boys. I think the girls enjoyed Andrew too. I can already see him being a sweetheart to the girls! Once we made it to the book fair, Andrew had his eye on a journal. I love that he is so excited about learning how to write that he is more interested in a cool looking journal than a Pokemon book or other silly book that we have 3 thousand of already. Andrew was NOT ready to leave so we left quickly with a whiney boy. After his bath I saw him writing in the new journal he bought at the book fair. This morning I found the entry... "Dad is a little mean and a little nice. Mom was too."

Kindergarten Love

I am loving just how excited Andrew is about school. It is so evident what is going in at school with what I see happening at home. I caught him in the study sounding out words out loud and it made my heart swell. I discover all kinds of notes, poems, artwork, and even books around the house with Andrew's proud signature. Makes my teacher's heart proud.
And, I'm not sure if it's seeing big brother "working" or what but Matthew is finally interested in books. He will sit in my lap and read for hours, or do sticker books, or puzzles. I sometimes even find him doing it on his own. Now, when we go upstairs for bed, I can expect story time to be extended for as long as my tired body can ale it.

Weekend fun

Randy is at the ranch this weekend. But, that's not going to stop us from finding some fun. Poppa took Amdrew to the St. Thomas High School foot ball game. The Seels spent Friday night with us so Saturday morning was filled with pancakes, driveway art, and driveway bike races. Andrew was invited for a play and dinner with Seth and Melissa came over and put up our tree for us. It looks FABULOUS! I am so excited about the final product and ready to take on the Christmas season!!

Big boy Matthew

This morning Matthew and his "baby" spent some quality time together watching "Buzz" before we headed off to Bible Buddies. I just don't understand some things and that's just alright!
After Bible Buddies we had lunch as church with our normal crew. M and J did their normal running around and suckered a cute little girl to join them.
Then it was off to the lab to get Matthew's blood drawn:(. But, he couldn't have been a bigger champ! He sat in the chair with me and sat still the whole time. He even watched... Unlike his mommy! He cried just a little and we were done! Now, we have to wait until Monday for results. I'm guessing it's allergies!
Oh, and 2 things on my Christmas wish list I found at HEB tonight! Well....one I just couldn't wait for!

Lots of little friends

Today started out as a quiet morning with toast and jam with my littliest man, but changed quickly when Caroline AND Jackson came over to play. Thankfully I had Betty to help because I wouldn't have survived. I was able to get Caroline and Jackson down for their naps at the same time but Matthew decided he was going to skip his nap today. He kept telling me: babies sleeping;). I guess he was the big boy!
