Today Andrew (with a very serious face) performed with his buddies their Christmas concert at school. It was so cute to watch how serious Andrew was during the whole performance and then to see how goofy he was when it was all over! No and Millie came to watch the performance and were able to see Andrew's classroom afterward.
This evening we went to the Burka house to do our annual service project play date. The kiddos stuffed bags full of goodies to pass out to the homeless during the Christmas season and then stuffed their faces silly with pizza. It's always a good time. It crazy to think these kids have gotten together since they were teeny tiny babies!!

Fun friends and Family Night at SF
Yesterday Matthew had a morning play date at the park with Harper and then a lunch play date at the Racquet Club with Harper and Jackson. I think The boys were a little too much for sweet Harper girl. She crashed as soon as we got in the car.
Later that evening all four of us went to the SF book fair at Andrew's school. It was so fun seeing Andrew interact with his new friends. I was shocked that he was just as crazy about the girls as he was about the boys. I think the girls enjoyed Andrew too. I can already see him being a sweetheart to the girls! Once we made it to the book fair, Andrew had his eye on a journal. I love that he is so excited about learning how to write that he is more interested in a cool looking journal than a Pokemon book or other silly book that we have 3 thousand of already. Andrew was NOT ready to leave so we left quickly with a whiney boy. After his bath I saw him writing in the new journal he bought at the book fair. This morning I found the entry... "Dad is a little mean and a little nice. Mom was too."

Kindergarten Love
I am loving just how excited Andrew is about school. It is so evident what is going in at school with what I see happening at home. I caught him in the study sounding out words out loud and it made my heart swell. I discover all kinds of notes, poems, artwork, and even books around the house with Andrew's proud signature. Makes my teacher's heart proud.
And, I'm not sure if it's seeing big brother "working" or what but Matthew is finally interested in books. He will sit in my lap and read for hours, or do sticker books, or puzzles. I sometimes even find him doing it on his own. Now, when we go upstairs for bed, I can expect story time to be extended for as long as my tired body can ale it.

Andrew's school pictures
Andrew looks so grown up in his school pictures this year! I'm thinking it just might be the tie because my baby CAN'T be this old!!
And this afternoon we went to visit Jackson for a few minutes after dropping Andrew off at karate. Elaine was giving the boys rides on Jackson's 4 wheeler he got for his 2nd birthday. Matthew was well protected wearing a helmet AND a mouth piece!

Houston Traffic, Spa Overcup and Lunch with Andrew
This morning Matthew slept in after a late night with tons of sugar! He had a lazy morning of relaxing by the fire after his bath.
Matthew and I joined Andrew for lunch today. He was quite surprised! Matthew was mostly interested in the fish tank. Andrew was nice enough to share his pasta with Matthew. I was able to see that the fruit and veggies don't go down the hatch at school either.
Tonight after bath I could hear Matthew getting frustrated with his cars. I found him with a Houston sized traffic jam on his Little People ramp. Goes to show that even little people get road rage!

Donuts with Dad
This morning Randy took Matthew to school because they were having donuts with Dad! It was a nice break for me. I decided to make my morning run up to MDPC and try to snag a pic. But, as soon as I spotted the church, I then spotted Randy's car pulling out. Oh well! I got a good run in and Randy was thoughtful enough to ask someone to snap a pic for me.

Fall Friday
Andrew had his Harvest Festival at SF today and I volunteered to work the craft booth. It was fun to see him enjoying himself with his school friends.
Matthew had school today too. One of the best things about him going to school two days a week is the reunion at the end of the school day. He is so sweet and gives his teachers sugars completely unprompted and tells everyone he sees going out the door "bye-bye!". He can't leave without getting a squirt or lotion next to the hand sanitizer. And most days he wants "juice" (combo water with a splash of tea) too.
This evening had a fancy dinner at Memorial City Mall food court. Randy had fish tacos, I had avocado tacos, Matthew had queso and tortillas, and Andrew had Mickey Ds. Healthy stuff! Before leaving, the boys rode the merry go round. Andrew got up out of the carriage and they immediately stopped the whole ride! Andrew and his daddy were both really embarrassed!

Andrew is Chapel Helper and a Special Phone Call
This morning Andrew and McKenna carried the bible an prayer book into chapel. They did such a good job. Andrew was so proud of himself and really enjoyed it. He looked so grown up!
Later on Andrew received a special phone call from Luke! Their conversation was priceless. Pokemon, school, karate, DS games, Chicago vs Houston, and sisters were just a few of the hot topics. Love this sweet relationship!

Peace Out YELLOW SCHOOL
Andrew's First Day of Yellow School
Andrew's Last Day of Yellow School
Andrew finished up his Kindergarten year at the Yellow School a week early so we could head to Destin. He has really enjoyed his three years he spent at the Yellow School. He has grown so confident and his experience, especially this year, has been wonderful. This is EXACTLY what I wanted his pre-school years to be like.....full of fun, full of imagination, and a fostering a love of learning! Next year he is moving on up to "real" school and will be a St. Francis Wolf!
