Halloween 2011

This morning Randy and I had a parent/teacher conference with Andrew's teacher. Andrew had the day off so as soon as we were done Andrew, Matthew, and I headed to the zoo for Boo Zoo! It was a fabulous day with my boys. The weather was fantastic so we had to squeeze in a train ride before leaving Hermann Park.
We joined the Seels for their neighborhood costume parade and then hit up both their neighborhood and ours for some trick or treat fun. The Krovontkas joined us as well but Maddie wasn't a bug fan of her puppy dog costume.
It was a great day! Makes me wish Andrew had more days off this time of year!!

Halloween Eve

This morning after church, we had a quick lunch at Buffalo Grille. It was nice to sit outside.
Later on we hit up the Children's Halloween Party at The Racquet Club. Andrew danced his heart out and Matthew ran around like a crazy 2 year old. They both enjoyed themselves.
We ended up having chicken dinner night there with Rob and Liv and some of their friends before calling it a night.
I'm excited to have both boys home with me tomorrow just line old times. I'm thinking a trip to the zoo is in the works!

Boo Zoo vs The Lazy Day

I asked Andrew this morning if he wanted to go do something fun like go to Boo Zoo at the zoo or have a lazy day. And....lazy day won! I think sometimes you just can't beat staying in your pjs!

GNO and Halloween traditions

Last night I went out with 3 ladies I taught with at Lowery. Lynne, Jen, and Katy make me laugh and laugh and laugh! We were definitely the loudest and the last people to leave Alicia's last night. But, it was good for the soul!
Tonight we had the Juenkes and the Burks over for dinner. We started a Halloween play date tradition years ago getting the kids together for pumpkin shaped grilled cheese, tomato web soup, and to paint pumpkins. But, since they are now school age, we decided to invite the daddies in for some Halloween fun. The kids had a blast playing in the back yard with the cool front that blew in last night. For dessert I made triple chocolate mummy cupcakes.

Picnic lunch and Grocery Helper

Matthew is such a routine kiddo. After bible buddies, we usually stay at church for lunch with other mommies and kiddos. Today I had to make a flying trip to the grocery store before Matthew's nap, so I was going to try to skip lunch today. Matthew started crying, "Eat, eat!" So back in we go. Our usual room didn't have tables set up so we camped out and had our own picnic. I love these sweet moments with me kiddos.
Then on to the grocery store. Matthew eagerly helped push the buggy. He first stopped at the candy aisle and threw in a bag of Butterfingers. He looked up at me and then said: Poooot back! Haha! So then off for a box mix to make dessert for company tomorrow. I grab a chocolate muffin mix and he grabs it out of his cart and says: Pooot back! Hahaha! I guess it's only fair.
Matthew's purchases: Teddy Grahams, freeze dried strawberries, and huge pasta noodles!
You can see from the pics that he will make a wonderful husband one day!

2 Year Check Up and Pumpkin Contest

This morning Matthew had his two year check up with Dr. Crane. Everything looked really good...we just might be going down the allergy road with Matthew too;(. He is long and lean..26 lbs. (26%) and ??" (80%). She said it wouldn't hurt him to keep up with the vitamin D whole milk!
This evening Andrew completed his pumpkin for the school contest tomorrow. He choose to make the Fly Guy, a popular character in an early reader series. It was alot of fun to work as a family tonight and I think Andrew is pretty proud of the end product.

Chicken Chili, Pumpkins, Boo, Driveway Fun, & 2 Year Old sleeps

What is nicer than have a crock pot dinner ready for you when you come home from the pumpkin patch?
A dinner ready that both boys devour....and then being BOOed by some sneaky friends.
I love sneaky sleeping pics of my children. I want to always remember the sweet feeling of watching your babies sleep!
What a fun fall day!
